Assessments & Data

At LEA, we believe in data-informed decision making. While collecting data is good, using data and making it actionable is even better. Below are external assessments taken by LEA students. Data gathered from these assessments are used by school personnel to adjust instructional practices.

Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) → All students take an abbreviated version of this assessment as part of the admissions process.
*Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) → Students in grade 7 take this assessment for baseline, diagnostic data. Students then take it again in grade 9 for comparative data. The video below goes into greater detail about this unique assessment:

Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test (PSAT) → Students in grade 10 take this assessment in preparation for the actual SAT.
Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) & American College Test (ACT) → Students in grades 11 and/or 12 take these assessments as part of the college entrance process.

*Note: Access to norm-referenced, country-wide data will be available when Rwanda becomes a participating country for the PISA.
